Being female in India is dangerous from conception through adulthood. If you’re not aborted, if you’re not killed as an infant, if you’re not given less food or medicine or care than boys and die in early childhood, if you somehow you make it to marriage, it is essential to make sure your dowry is adequate. The dowry system also results in “dowry death,” in which a man kills his wife because he feels her dowry was not sufficient. These types of murders are often ignored by Indian courts.
In something out of an Orwellian nightmare, Family Planning Police are informed by village spies, who are rewarded for informing on their neighbors. These police drag women out of their house for abortions. Families are fined exorbitant, impossible fees for violating the policies. In the film, one couple tell their heartbreaking story of having to split up their three daughters into different homes, then move away to avoid arrest, leaving their daughters behind.
However, if they violate the policy and have ”illegal” children, these children become un-people. They are denied citizenship. They cannot get a passport or fly on a plane. They will not have access to health care, education, or employment. As far as the government is concerned, they have no right to exist.
As Reggie Littlejohn, president of Women’s Rights Without Frontiers, explains, China has the highest female suicide rate in the world – 500 women per day. Those are World Health Organization numbers. “Could this epidemic of female suicide in China be related to forced abortion, forced sterilization, and female infanticide?” asks Littlejohn. She goes on to answer her own question: “How does a woman feel about herself as a woman if she has killed her daughter just because she’s a girl? How does that make her feel about herself? How does that make her feel about her own right to live, to draw breath on this earth?”

I Was Raped and Left Pregnant at 17, But I Love My Baby
And even though there are literally no studies showing any benefit from abortion, they had total confidence in the social myth that abortion is the best option, even theonly option, in cases of sexual assault.
It just added more layers of trauma, self-doubt, grief and guilt. The negative impact lasted for years.

It just added more layers of trauma, self-doubt, grief and guilt. The negative impact lasted for years.
A national study published in 1996 found that half of the estimated 32,000 rape pregnancies which occur each year end in abortion. Note: half. Not even 60 percent.
That so many women choose to give birth after rape, despite the social expectations and pressure to abort, should give you pause.
the majority of those who had abortions said it only caused additional problems and the vast majority regretted having abortions. By contrast, among those who delivered the child, satisfaction was higher and none stated any regret for giving birth....
Why are these facts so little known? It is because many people on both sides of the abortion debate are more concerned with their ideologies than they are the complex nitty-gritty details which confound sound bites.
When a pregnant sexual assault victim balks at having an abortion, she will almost immediately faces queries of suspicion from family and friends. How can any woman have a rapist’s child, they wonder? And then the suspicion mounts . . . maybe she lied. Maybe she was not really the victim of a “legitimate” rape?
And so the assumption that surely a real rape victim would want an abortion creates a new pressure on hurting women, in a time of intense crisis, to accept the recommendation of abortion, despite moral qualms and heightened sensitivity to victimization, to swallow their reservations and have the abortion if only to silence the rising doubts about their rape story.

At 18, I learned that I was conceived out of a brutal rape at
knife-point by a serial rapist. Like most people, I'd never considered
that abortion applied to my life, but once I received this information,
all of a sudden I realized that, not only does it apply to my life, but
it has to do with my very existence....
I also remember feeling like garbage because of people who would say that my life was like garbage -- that I was disposable.

Where We Go From Here
It's because of why I knew that Romney would lose: America is lost. And there is something to be found, but not unless good people understand what truly lies ahead.

A Call to Arms
*A Call to Arms*
Apolos, I can say without hesitation that I barely know anything about what's been going on regarding the presidency and the policies of those running for president; but I do know enough to say that Obama is the ironic liberator.
Obama has (in my case) liberated me from my fear and hesitation, and catapulted me into Catholic, affirmative action.Prepare yourselves (I feel compelled to say) for the martyrdoms we've all read about in books about the saints, because now, there's very little stopping them from happening to you and me.
"The freedom of the church as an institution to distance itself from that which its doctrines decry as morally wrong is considered sacrosanct. " (Rahe, 2/10/12)
That means, in every earthly sense, we're screwed. People living (or dying) during WW2, the French Revolution, Poland under soviet rule, etc.-- all saw persecution during times in history when barbarism and animosity toward the Church were thought to be improbable.
Well, here we are again, folks.
I hate to bring in the cliche, but when are you going to notice how Obama mimics Hitler? And the best part is, Obama didn't even have to start his own Holocaust: it's been going on (legally) since 1973! Obama’s also doing a great job at getting everyone of us to literally pay for it.
What can we do about it on the national level? On any political level? Very little. But on the spiritual level?
The power of Mary, the Theotokos (“Mother of God”), invoked through the recitation of the Rosary has crushed the enemies of the Church time and again. Century after century. Corrupt ruler after corrupt ruler. I think it’s time to harness our eternal ammo and get cranking. Mother Mary and her Son have been throwing this tool, the Rosary, at us for centuries, because they WANT us to use it. So let’s use it.
Pray the Rosary. Pray it every day. Start it even when you know you can’t finish it. Pray it, even when you have no privacy. Try and do it once a day, every day. Mary is listening. I don’t need to tell you that. You KNOW. You know.
Apolos, today, Sirena and I ask you to join us in saying the Rosary everyday. We also invite you to say it with us in front of Polyclinic on Saturday mornings (we’re going to try and be there as early as 9:00am and stay for as long as possible). Why? Because Polyclinic, one of Guam’s two abortion clinics, is sitting there, waiting for us to ask Mary to crush it into the dust and send a definite message to all those pro-death people out there (malicious or unwitting, whatever the case may be) that no matter how much they try to make mortal sin legal and available, the Church laity will always be there to defeat them.
“The grace of my God rendered me invincible.” Take the words of St. Philomena, a 13 year old virgin martyr of ancient times, to heart, and get busy.
See you there.
Pax tecum.

It's Not the Economy After All, is It?
And the social conservatives will be deeply persuaded that they have done far too much accommodating.
I, for one, think we have hardly begun to resist the evil and injustice of abortion and SSM. I now think we would have done better to lose decrying those than pretending they're side issues.
I also haven't been religious enough. I've put too much hope in princes. God forgive me.
American Catholicism's Pact with the Devil
" At the prospect that institutions associated with the Catholic Church would be required to offer to their employees health insurance covering contraception and abortifacients, the bishops, priests, and nuns scream bloody murder. But they raise no objection at all to the fact that Catholic employers and corporations, large and small, owned wholly or partially by Roman Catholics will be required to do the same."
"And they welcomed Social Security – which was her handiwork. They did not stop to ponder whether public provision in this regard would subvert the moral principle that children are responsible for the well-being of their parents. They did not stop to consider whether this measure would reduce the incentives for procreation and nourish the temptation to think of sexual intercourse as an indoor sport. They did not stop to think."
" It did not cross the minds of these prelates that the liberty of conscience which they had grown to cherish is part of a larger package – that the paternalistic state, which recognizes no legitimate limits on its power and scope, that they had embraced would someday turn on the Church and seek to dictate whom it chose to teach its doctrines and how, more generally, it would conduct its affairs."
"I would submit that the bishops, nuns, and priests now screaming bloody murder have gotten what they asked for. The weapon that Barack Obama has directed at the Church was fashioned to a considerable degree by Catholic churchmen. They welcomed Obamacare. They encouraged Senators and Congressmen who professed to be Catholics to vote for it."
"...the Roman Catholic Church in the United States has lost much of its moral authority. It has done so largely because it has subordinated its teaching of Catholic moral doctrine to its ambitions regarding an expansion of the administrative entitlements state. "
"The truth is that the priests in the United States are far more likely to push the “social justice” agenda of the Church from the pulpit than to instruct the faithful in the evils of abortion.
And there is more. I have not once in those years heard the argument against contraception articulated from the pulpit, and I have not once heard the argument for chastity articulated."
"There is another dimension to the failure of the American Church in the face of the sexual revolution. As, by now, everyone knows, in the 1980s, when Cardinal Bernardin was the chief leader of the American Church and the man most closely consulted when the Vatican selected its bishops, it became evident to the American prelates that they had a problem – that, in many a diocese, there were priests of a homoerotic orientation who were sexual predators – pederasts inclined to take advantage of young boys. They could have faced up to the problem at that time; they could have turned in the malefactors to the secular authorities; they could have prevented their further contact with the young. Instead, almost certainly at the instigation of Cardinal Bernardin, they opted for another policy. They hushed everything up, sent the priests off for psychological counseling, and reassigned them to other parishes or even dioceses – where they continued to prey on young boys. In the same period, a number of the seminaries in which young men were trained for the priesthood became, in effect, brothels – and nothing was done about any of this until the newspapers broke the story and the lawsuits began."
"Earlier today, Barack Obama offered the hierarchy “a compromise.” Under its terms, insurance companies offering healthcare coverage will be required to provide contraception and abortifacients, but this will not be mentioned in the contracts signed by those who run Catholic institutions."
